All of our doctors are active members of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. They are also certified in controlled substances, diagnostic, topical and oral therapeutic agents. Our doctors are committed to keeping current in optometry through continuing education and staying up to date with the latest treatments, trends and technology.
Dr. Luisa De Faveri received her Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2009, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List. In 2008, Dr. De Faveri completed her ocular disease internship with ophthalmologists at the Scarborough Eye Associates and Bochner Eye Institute.
Dr. De Faveri enjoys getting to know her patients during the eye examinations and can often be found in the optical gallery chatting with patients as they arrive or when they come to pick up their glasses. She enjoys practicing all areas of optometry but particularly has a passion for ocular pathology and detecting diseases in the early stages as well as encouraging disease prevention. She thoroughly enjoys providing consultations for contact lenses and laser eye surgery, which both provide individuals with freedom from glasses. She also loves the fashion side of finding frames to suit each individual’s style and taste. Dr. De Faveri is an occasional clinical supervisor for student interns and values educating not only her students, but her patients as well.
In her spare time, you may see Dr. De Faveri at the park chasing after her two children and numerous nieces and nephews. She also enjoys travelling, sports, piano, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Lisa Federico received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2002 and 2004, respectively. In 2009, she graduated on the Dean’s Honours List with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. At convocation, she was awarded the Cooper Vision Contact Lens Award for excellence in Contact Lens Care. In 2008, Dr. Federico completed her ocular disease internship with ophthalmologists at the Scarborough Eye Associates. Although a full scope optometrist, Dr. Federico has a keen interest in contact lens and pediatric eye exams. She loves to see the smiles on her young patients when they get their first pair of glasses and can see the world more clearly.
Dr. Federico has made Vaughan her home and she feels a strong sense of community when she runs into her patients while out with her family. In her free time, Dr. Federico can be found at various soccer fields, gymnastics competitions or hockey arenas cheering on her three children.
Dr. Amy Luu received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2009 and 2013, respectively, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List. At convocation, Dr. Luu received the Prize for Academic Excellence in Ocular Pharmacology and the Abbott Medical Optics General Proficiency Award. In 2012, she completed her ocular disease internship at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center where she developed an interest in ocular pathology and pharmacology. Dr. Luu enjoys pediatric eye exams and is passionate about myopia control. She has helped slow down the progression of near-sightedness in many children.
Dr. Luu is fluent in English and Chinese, and she likes learning new languages. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her son and her dog for walks to the park, as well as reading, baking, and travelling.
