Our Optometrists

Dr. Carmen Santone

Dr. Carmen Santone has been providing quality eye care services to surrounding area families since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1974. His studies included an internship on the islands of St. Kitt’s, Turks and Caicos and Nevis. He served as a staff clinician at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry for several years. Dr. Santone also completed additional courses in the treatment and management of ocular disease in affiliation with Northeastern State University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Santone has been a resident of Vaughan since 1981. He has played an active role in his community through involvement in managing, coaching and sponsoring a number of hockey and soccer teams. He is an executive member of his ratepayers association, a Board member of Alternatives: Integrating People with Cognitive Challenges, a local charity, and a loyal supporter of numerous local events and organizations.
Dr. Lisa Federico

Dr. Lisa Federico received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2002 and 2004, respectively. In 2009, she graduated on the Deans Honours List with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. At convocation, she was awarded the Cooper Vision Contact Lens Award for excellence in Contact Lens Care. In 2008, Dr. Federico completed her ocular disease internship with ophthalmologists at the Scarborough Eye Associates. Although a full scope optometrist, Dr. Federico has a keen interest in Contact Lens and Pediatric eye exams. Dr. Federico lives in Vaughan with her husband and son. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Luisa De Faveri

Dr. Luisa De Faveri received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2009, graduating on the Deans Honours List. In 2008, Dr. De Faveri completed her ocular disease internship with ophthalmologists at the Scarborough Eye Associates. Dr. De Faveri enjoys getting to know her patients during the eye examinations. She enjoys practicing all areas of optometry; particularly contact lenses and ocular pathology. She is also a clinical supervisor for student interns in association with the University of Waterloo. In her spare time, Dr. DeFaveri enjoys traveling, soccer, piano, and spending time with family and friends.

All of our doctors are active members of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ontario College of Optometrists. They are also certified in controlled substances, diagnostic, topical and oral therapeutic agents. Our doctors are committed to keeping current in optometry through continuing education and staying up to date with the latest treatments, trends and technology.
